Sandford St Martin 2 v Bledlow Village Cricket Club Saturday 2nd on Sat 18 May 2019 at 12:30
Bledlow Village Cricket Club Won By 7 Wickets
Match report
A chaotic morning at Bledlow after a player had to pull out.
We eventually set off to Sandford with 10 men to take on a team that finished 7th in this division last year.
Marcus done his first job well, winning the toss and decided to have a bowl in the overcast conditions.
With 10 men on a big outfield, a few older bodies and a few broken younger ones Sandford missed a trick in failing to rotate strike and manoeuvre the field.
Bledlow done well to restrict Sandford to 218 with some good fielding including 2 run outs from the younger members of the team.
After tea the new 2s duo of Marcus and Lomas walked out to what turned in to a swift 25 over chase.
Aggression from every batsman that found themselves in the middle meant it was a quick chase where we rode our luck and made them pay for poor fielding.
Mudie finishing with a very good 81* and Lomo with his 2nd 50 in as many games.
I don’t think we can get too carried away with life in division 6 so far and no doubt Sandford weren’t at full strength today.
But we done the job well and played some good cricket in all departments.
Well done lads!
