Bledlow Village Cricket Club Won By 63 Runs

Match report Bledlow welcomed Monks Risborough to the Bledlow Oval for another midweek 20 0ver match, hoping to get their first win of the season in the shorter format.

Skipper Tom won the toss and elected to bat and openers Olly and James Basu quickly got stuck in to the bowling attack. After some early wild swings and misses from Olly, both managed to regularly find the boundaries in a quickfire partnership of 70 off just 6 8 ball overs. Basu departed for an aggressive 21, bringing Marcus to the crease. Marcus quickly got into his stride, with him and Olly rotating the strike with ease and smashing the occasional boundary. Olly was the next man out, caught behind for 77 after a dirty slog. Sam Mudie (0) and Dan Walker (12) both fell soon after whilst attempting to boost Bledlow's already impressive score. Marcus and Tom then finished off the innings, Marcus ending on 30 not out, to get us up to 160-4.

Bledlow were very confident of defending their score when they took to the field but some big hitting from the visitor's top order off the bowling of Tom Moore and John Dumbarton had the fielding side worried. However it wasn't long before the wickets started to tumble, Tom and John both picking up 2 wickets each. The change bowlers of Reckers and Jordan Price were even more successful, both taking 3 wickets in their single overs to finish with figures of 3-1 and 3-3 respectively. This all meant that Monks Risborough were bowled out for 97 to complete a comprehensive win for Bledlow after a strong all round performance.
