Bledlow Village Cricket Club Saturday 2nd v Long Marston CC - 2nd XI on Sat 25 Jun 2016 at 1.00pm
Bledlow Village Cricket Club Lost By 3 wickets

Match report Ben Moore loses the toss and the boys are made to bat.

With a bit of rain around we got under way facing a top of the table Long Marston side with Keeno and Marcus opening up. This partnership wasn't to last long with Marcus trying to smash a ball on the up and snicking off.
Bloomers came in at 3 and went for 2 missing a full ball looking to drive.
Keeno looked rather comfortable until he couldnt keep a back off a length delivery down and guided it straight to gully for an easy catch.
With George in at 4 playing his first of the season there was a bit of pressure on his shoulders after the top 3 failed to build any real total.
A maverick move from captain Moore promoted 1st team No.11 to bat at 5 in the 2s didn't reap reward as Kingy went for just 1 being bowled!
As a familiar story for the 2s started to unfold, Tombs and George were able to slow the collapse and made a partnership of 47 as George after a promising innings was out for 40.
With little to come as Ben, Joe, Rog and Jim only managing single figures and Reckers 0* a poor total of 114 was posted.

A quick turn around and out to play before tea. Ben trusting Reckers and Joe with the new ball. After the first ball got slapped away for 4 it was clear what they thought of the total they had in front of them.
Long Marston being over positive the 3rd ball bought us a wicket with the No.1 trying to cut and snicking off for a simple catch to Keeno. The same was repeated to the No.2 after Reckers 1st ball to this batman being timed down the ground for 4, a couple of balls later he was walking back, out in the same fashion. 2 down in 3 overs and we started wondering if we could pull this out the bag!
Good bowling from J Harman the other end created lots of pressure with the batsman wanting to score more freely than they were able to. Backed up by Kingy and Ben when they came into the attack we kept chipping away taking wickets. Some great fielding kept the pressure on the oppo to make sure it wasn't an easy 25 points for them.
A couple of close reaction catches were put down and possibly let them off. But chasing 114 we were generally pleased with the performance in the field the allowed us to pick up 7 wickets.
A good game to be part of in the end and great energy from everyone in the field!
The bat let us down again.
On to next week and another crack at picking up 25 points!
