Match report Great Brickhill were the visitors on another sunny Saturday at the Bledlow Oval. For the second week in a row the opposition captain put Bledlow in to bat after calling correctly at the toss.

Bledlow were determined to put on a better performance than last week but things didn't get off to a great start as skipper Tom was bowled for his first duck of the season. Despite the early setback, Bledlow were able to score quickly and put together regular partnerships, with all of the middle order managing scores above 40. The innings was yet again held together by Matt Bolton, with Harry, Will and Charlie scoring quick runs. Some good hitting from Reg in the latter overs saw Bledlow post 286-9 from their 53 overs, their highest score of the season.

Once again Bledlow's opening bowlers ran in hard but were unable to make any early breakthroughs. Kingy managed to pick up a wicket on his return to end an opening stand of 86, getting the batsman to edge a ball to Charlie at slip. After a stubborn second wicket partnership, Matt Bolton had the number three batsman caught behind with the score on 127. Will then removed the remaining opener, caught at short fine leg after top edging a sweep on 82. Bolts the picked up his second wicket with an LBW decision that had the batsman cursing on his way back to the pavilion.
With the game seemingly petering out into a draw, Hawkesy was reintroduced into the attack. He bowled an excellent spell of quick bowling, giving Bledlow a sniff of victory with 4 quick wickets. However Brickhill's number 10 saw of Hawkesy's final over to deny Bledlow victory.

A much improved all round performance sees Bledlow remain in second with just 3 games remaining. Next week the boys will travel to Blewbury in the hope that they can continue their promotion push.
