Bledlow Village Cricket Club Saturday 2nd v Banbury CC 4th XI on Sat 29 Aug 2015 at 12.30pm
Bledlow Village Cricket Club Won by 7 wickets
Match report
Olly won the toss and with a strong bowling attack decided to give the guys a chance to skittle the opposition and give the batsman an easy day!
Hawks and Ben got to work and the plan started to take affect!
Hawks taking a 5fer and could of had 6 if he had not been called for over stepping by the home umpire as the ball clattered into the stumps the other end!
Ben Contributing with 3 and arguable should of been 4 but the batsman didn't walk after snicking the George with the gloves on. Their umpire deciding not to raise his finger probably due to the fact they were off to a bad start.
After a small partnership involving the oppo captain they made it to 92 before being sll out Kingy taking the last getting the captain LBW.
Walking in after half the job done the openers got padded and the rest of the guys were left to watch and start to feel hungry as you could smell the tea being prepared in the kitchen!
Olly and Marcus opening with a smallish target could only be bad news with both liking to feel bat on ball and after Marcus whacked two 4s he missed the straight one in the first over. Olly continued on to 47 before being caught behind chasin his 50 and once again missed out on a milestone.
George who had been going along nicely with Olly allowing him the strike ticked over and finished with 25 after being caught at point with only a few needed to seal a victory. Bloomers down the other end enjoyed freeing his arms but only managed 1 run with the first ball he hit!
A top win for the guys and 36 points taken from Banbury who are the Division Champions.
This win basically keeps the side in division 6 next year after a very tough season early on!
