Bledlow Village Cricket Club Saturday 1st v Tiddington CC - 2nd XI on Sat 09 Jul 2016 at 1.00pm
Bledlow Village Cricket Club Won By 6 Wickets

Match report Skipper Tom continued his excellent tossing record this season and yet again elected to field first at the Bledlow Oval.

Opening bowlers Pearce and Bolton got Bledlow off to an excellent start, not allowing the Tiddington batsmen to score freely and both taking a wicket each. James Hawkes then continued the good work, taking two quick wickets to leave the visitors 75-4. Bledlow then seemed to take their foot off the gas, allowing the Tiddington 5th wicket partnership accumulate and start to look like they could post a respectable score, with their batsmen 2 and 6 consistently ticking the score over. However, with the score on 130, Will struck twice in one over to remove both of the set batsmen and put Bledlow back in charge. Bolts and Will then took one further wicket each before an unbeaten 9th wicket stand of 45 took Tiddington's final score to 202-8 from their 53 overs.

Bledlow were confident of being able to chase the score set for them but got off to an uncomfortable start as the umpire attempted to make things difficult for the top of the table side. He first triggered Olly, quickly followed by Tom, the opening pair both left feeling very hard done by by their LBW decisions. Harry and Will then got stuck in to the Tiddington bowlers in a quickfire stand of 71 before Will was out caught at slip for 42 after attempting a reverse sweep. Another long stand followed between Matt Bolton and Harry until the umpire intervened again, this time dubiously adjudging Bolts LBW for 37 with Bledlow only needing 14 to win. Charlie and Harry knocked off the remaining runs, with the only drama being Harry left stranded on 99 not out after another superb innings.

Another comprehensive win for Bledlow sees them maintain their position at the top of the table.

Next week the first team travel to in form Banbury, where they will be hoping to make it a third win in a row and extend their lead at the top of the table.
