Dear
Club Member,
With
the passing of this ‘strange’ year we would like to take this
final opportunity to thank everybody who has supported and assisted
the Club this summer. We would not be the Club we are without
our volunteers, junior coaches, players and loyal social members.
We
were able to play some competitive cricket and we eagerly await the
new season and the ‘new normal’! Our plan to improve and
strengthen our cricket for next year is taking shape, with the
construction of the new Nets base compete. The installation will be
completed in the new year, followed hopefully by a ‘grand opening’
in April.
Unfortunately,
the differing socialisation regulations have made it impossible for
us to open the Club during the last few weeks and this looks likely
to continue into the new year. We were disappointed that Bledfest
and the usual end of year quizzes and raffles couldn’t happen, but
we are grateful for everyone’s continued support of the Century
Club which will continue under ‘new management’ in the new year.
We hope for a return of these favourites next year.
We
still have closed season work parties from time to time and we will
always welcome anybody who can help with a variety of jobs around
the ground.
There always
seems to be a lot to do!
Finally,
me and my family would like to wish you and your family a great
Christmas and look forward to better times in the coming year.
