Great & Little Tew CC 2nd XI v Bledlow Village Cricket Club Saturday 1st on Sat 13 May 2017 at 13.00
Bledlow Village Cricket Club Won By 21 runs

Match report Bledlow arrived at Great and Little Tew looking to build on an impressive first game of the season. However, when the lads walked out to inspect the pitch, it was clear that batting would be a lot more difficult than it had been the previous week.
Tom lost a seemingly important toss and Bledlow were unsurprisingly asked to bat first on the damp wicket. The opening pair Tom and Olly made their way to the middle looking to see off the new ball, knowing that it was going to be a tough ask. It proved to be the case as both openers were dismissed with just 16 runs on the board. Mouldy and Will began the rebuilding process with caution, taking advantage of the odd bad ball to keep the scoreboard moving. Will was then unlucky to be caught at second slip after the ball had ricocheted off of first slip's chest. Bolts soon followed, edging a catch through to the keeper. George came in at 6 and took the attack to the bowlers with a quick fire 26. However, when Mouldy and George fell is quick succession, Bledlow were in trouble at 114-6, with Sam and Dan at the crease. An excellent couple of innings from the pair, Sam with 37 and Dan with 21, enabled Bledlow to get up to 181 before they were bowled out in 38.4 overs.
Bledlow went out to field after tea with the belief that they could defend the modest total but, despite the best efforts of opening bowlers Matt Bolton and Matt Pearce, they were unable to get that desperately needed first breakthrough. The change bowlers had slightly more luck, with first Adam and then Was picking up LBWs to remove both openers, leaving the score 69-2. Was then had Tew’s dangerous looking number 3 caught on the boundary by Dan, having been hit for a huge 6 the ball before, giving Bledlow renewed hope that they could still win the match. Another steady partnership of 43 from Tew followed before skipper Tom brought himself on and picked up two wickets in his first over, putting the match back in the balance. Tom then took another wicket soon after but Tew’s number 5 still managed to frustrate Bledlow at the other end. When Was returned to the attack and picked up two quick wickets, including the number 5 batsman, Bledlow were firmly in the ascendancy, needing just two wickets for victory. Tom then got his fourth wicket to leave both himself and Was needing one wicket to complete a five wicket haul with only one wicket remaining. After some slight resistance from the Tew tail it was Was who claimed the final wicket as Olly took a simple catch to seal what had seemed an unlikely victory for most of the match.
Bledlow will travel to Oxford next week in pursuit of successive victories and looking to continue their great start to the season.
